Delft Porcelain (Delfts blauw) – porcelain in blue and white colors, is produced in the city of Delft (Netherlands) and is one of the symbols of the city and a popular souvenir.
A feature of Delft porcelain was the multiple glazing with transparent lead glaze and the final firing at low temperatures, that made the product closer to faience. The main manufactured products were tiles for cladding walls and tiled stoves, as well as dining rooms and decorative tablware.
The paintings on the walls are original engravings made in the etching technique of the late 18th century. Etching – technology of easel graphics of intaglio printing. Even at the expense of relatively simple preparatory work, drawing on a metal board with fairly simple tools and, most importantly, etching, this technique in prints makes it possible to achieve a very wide variety, which in turn gives rich means of expressiveness both in the nature of the lines and in texture, tonal depth of a wide range.
